John Geer
John has over thirty years’ experience in healthcare including hospitals (inpatient and outpatient services), surgery centers, imaging centers, home health and urgent care clinics.
Most of John’s career has been focused on the merger and acquisition area including sourcing, diligence, transition, and negotiations. John has also served as the interim Chief Financial Officer for a dental services organization, a company that focuses on urgent care clinics for Medicaid patients and a value-based care company focused on the minority community.
Most of John’s career was with Vanguard Health Systems, Inc. a NYSE company that owned 26 hospitals and other medical facilities in 5 states with approximately $5.0B in revenues. John was one of the first employees, was Vice President of Development and had a primary role in all of the company’s acquisitions. Vanguard was sold to Tenet in 2013 and John joined Tenet/United Surgical Partners International and was responsible for acquisition efforts in the areas of outpatient imaging, oncology, and post-acute services. In 2017, John joined Dow Healthcare, LLC as managing director and consulted on various healthcare projects. John lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and three grown children, two sons in law and two grandchildren with one on the way. John enjoys spending time with his family, cycling (road and mountain bikes), gardening and cooking. John graduated from the University of Alabama and was a member of Beta Alpha Psi International Accounting Honor Association and is a Certified Public Accountant.
